Setting up UPS with WayToShip

Below are step by step instructions on setting up your UPS  account with WayToShip

  1. Get UPS XML Access Key
  2. Fill in your account information at Carriers tab of WayToShip manager
  3. Generate certification bundle and email it to UPS
  4. Let us know that you are ready to switch to production after UPS approves the bundle


1. Get UPS XML Access Key 

Open UPS shipping tools at http://www.ups.com/e_comm_access/gettools_index?loc=en_US

Log in or create an online My UPS profile if you don't have one already

Select UPS Rates and Services OnLine Tool (required for shipping quotes) and get an Access Key

Now please go back to OnLine tool selection, scroll down to Premium Tools and select UPS Shipping (required for shipping labels)

Please fill out the form and submit it

You will be shown a download page. Please make sure to click on Request from link under Download Tool Documentation

Please fill in this form as well and submit it.

Do not generate an XML access key yet as it takes some time for UPS to approve your account for Shipping

You will receive an email from UPS stating that your Developer key has been updated to include UPS Shipping

Now please generate an XML acceess key by clicking on Get Access Key on UPS shipping tools main page at

You will need your Developer Key from the email you have recieved earlier.

You will receive an email from UPS with your UPS OnLine Tools Access Key. It should include UPS Shipping XML in the list of services your account is authorized for.

You should have the following information:

2. Fill in your account information at Carriers tab of WayToShip manager. 

Click on Carriers tab and fill in your account information.

Please make sure to save the settings.

At this point you can see quotes and generate test labels.

3. Generate certification bundle and email it to UPS 

Click on Save button and then click on Prepare Certification Package button.

Save the generated bundle file and email the certification bundle and your UPS OnLine "Developer's Key" (not XML access key) to uoltects@ups.com

4. Let us know that you are ready to switch to production after UPS approves the certification bundle
